Meeting the Kentico folks at Gilbane Boston

You could say CMS is one of the core aspects of our solution.  In choosing Kentico as a key partner in this area, we weren't content to simply choose the product and not know anything more about the people behind it.  We're friendly people after all and face-to-face contact is something we favor if the opportunity presents itself.

So when we heard the Gilbane Group was coming to town with all their friends to present the latest in a series of conferences focused on Content Management AND that Kentico just happened to be one of those friends, we jumped at the chance to, as they say, "trot, trot to Boston" to meet them.  A quick hour-long drive, T ride and short walk later, we were shaking hands and putting a face to a name with the founder and CEO of Kentico, Petr Palas; Petr Passinger, the chief promoter of Kentico CMS and their partner program; and Eric Webb, Director of Business Development in the USA.

We exchanged ideas, offered some nearly all-positive feedback on our experiences with the product and a suggestion or two for improvement.  As we expected, they were very open and welcome to our ideas and feedback.

In addition, we quickly realized that we had been mispronouncing their company name.  We were saying "Ken-TEE-co", but when we heard them pronounce it "KEN-tih-co", we had to point out our own gaffe; and shared a good laugh about it. This is truly what global commerce is all about - while partners do business successfully over many thousands of miles, there's still something to be said for that face-to-face connection and the closer relationship it provides.

So many thanks to Kentico (remember, it's "KEN-tih-co") for making the LONG trip from the Czech Republic to meet little ol' us.  We promise to never use that other pronunciation again and also are looking forward to a bright future as a premier partner!

Here's a post they did on the Gilbane conference; they even posted a pic of us from the event!
